Video editor who got into code

Hi, I'm Elisa. I turn hours of raw footage into smooth videos and I started building things on the web.

The Chicken Office

A 2D multiplayer co-op game about surviving an 8-hour office shift — as a chicken.

Every friend joins the same room as a different chicken type and shares one real-time shift clock. Health slowly drains through the day, so the only way to reach 08:00:00 is to keep helping each other: feed a coworker, cheer them up, or work a desk for a quick boost.

How it plays

  • One key, E — walk up to a coworker, a desk or the wardrobe and a hint shows what E will do
  • Help a coworker: +20 health (+40 to revive someone who passed out)
  • Work a desk (hold E, ~4s): +15 health
  • Brain breaks — a logic question pops up 5 min in, then every 20 min; answer in 60s for +10
  • Health hits 0 → you pass out, and the team has 15 minutes to get you back up
  • Emoji reactions, room chat, and a wardrobe for cosmetic outfits

Chicken types

  • Turbo — much faster, but health drops sooner
  • Zen — health drains much more slowly
  • Tank — lasts longer without help, but slow
  • Social — bigger helping range, heals a little while helping

Built with

Plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript — no framework. HTML5 Canvas draws the office and the chickens; Firebase Realtime Database syncs every player, the chat and the shared shift clock, with anonymous sign-in so there's no login screen.

Play it

thechickenoffice.com — open it with friends, everyone enters the same room code and picks a chicken.

What I know & what I'm still figuring out

🌐 Web stuff

HTML, CSS and enough JavaScript to make things move.

🐍 Python

Where I go when I want to automate something annoying.

🗄️ Databases

SQL and the basics of keeping data tidy. Still learning here.

🛠️ My toolbox

Git. GitHub. VS Code. Terminal life.

🔒 Security & networks

Curious about how networks work and how to keep them safe.

🎮 For the love of it

Games, visual storytelling and anything that makes the screen feel alive.

About me

I started out as a video editor, but my curiosity about how things work led me to coding. Now I spend my days cutting footage and my nights tinkering with web development. I love the challenge of learning new skills and the satisfaction of creating something from scratch. Whether it's a smooth video edit or a clean piece of code, I enjoy the process of making things that work well and look good.
